Evening social events are held quarterly at Woodley Civic Hall, Hyde Road, Woodley, Stockport, SK6 1QG. Unless otherwise stated the meetings start at 8pm and finish at or before 9.30pm.
Dates for 2008 are:
Tuesday 8th July @ 7.45pm for 8.00pm start - The Truth Behind Speed Cameras
Mike Downes, Project Manager for the Greater Manchester Casualty Reduction Partnership will be joining us to explain about the different types of Safety Cameras we see around Greater Manchester and how they work. He will explain about the camera site locations and how they're chosen. Mike will be pleased to answer questions about how the cameras are funded and tell us the truth as to whether the cameras are there to income generate or not. Where does the money from fixed penalties really go? Do cameras really work to reduce road casualties? Come along to Woodley Civic Hall and ask your questions. There will be a chance to see some of the equipment and possibly see a laser camera in operation too! A night not to be missed!
Tuesday 12th August - Summer Quiz Night.
A first for RoADAR Manchester Group with our very own Lee Davies as Quiz Master. As you might expect, this will be a Quiz with a difference especially aimed at RoADAR members with a round on completely useless facts! Exciting prizes to be won! Bring your friends - everyone welcome!
Tuesday 14th October - Details coming soon!
We hope to see as many of you as possible at all the events.
