Web Security Tips
It is sensible to be cautious when using the Internet at all times, even when someone you know and trust sends you a link to a web site. The general guidelines below should be followed when using ANY browser or email client:- Don't click links in any unsolicited incoming emails; they may direct you to malicious sites.
- Don't open any attachments received from untrusted or unknown senders as they may direct you to phishing sites.
- Limit your Internet access to trusted sites.
- Beware of any emails purportedly relating to headline or celebrity news items - many are scams.
- If you've been given an Internet link, even from someone you know, rather than just follow the link verify its legitimacy and status using a search engine such as ask.co.uk or google.co.uk.
